I feel safer in the shadows
Don't make me step into the sun
I'd rather stay here in the darkness
Until the daylight's finally gone
I used to walk out in the sunlight
On the paths that were well worn
I used to follow all the people
All the people that I now scorn
So don't make me leave my shadows
Though it's not like you really could
You're too busy playing games
With the people you rather would
I remember standing out beside you
To feel the warmth upon my face
You were the miracle to guide me
But now you'll never have that grace
I feel safer in my shadows
I think I always knew I would
Here I can hide from all the sunlight
A
Insomniating again for you,
Convincing myself that I'm really not –
I'm not awake all night 'cause I miss you,
I don't miss you.
I don't miss the way you looked at me
When you told me I was beautiful
And I believed you.
And I don't miss the feel of you
Wrapped around me,
Protecting me,
Even though I always was the stronger one.
I don't miss you.
I don't miss your hands,
Your beautiful eyes,
And I certainly don't miss your lies,
You bastard.
I'm not awake all night 'cause I miss you –
I don't miss you.
I'm awake 'cause the U.S. government
Is committing acts of terrorism,
Like bombing schools in Iraq
And torturing innocent
Tears stain my face,
And flashes of you
Sear into my mind.
I'm in a haze,
I'm a walking zombie.
I feel like a melon
That's been hollowed out.
My last adventure,
Most exciting,
Ended.
Tragically.
Hoping things would've worked,
Knowing they wouldn't.
I hate being a slave to passion,
Fucking up everything.
I feel like I have no heart left.
Like I've been shot,
Ravens left to pick out my stomach.
My soul cries, dies.
My body cannoy produce the tears,
That yern to swell forth.
And lo,
I wear my mask of joyousness,
So the world cannot know,
Just how much it affected me.
I yern to curl up and die.

Hey, everyone.
(not just looking for pledges, but that will help... read all)
I know some of you will have already received a message from me. For those who haven't:
I'm hoping you'll want to help me support the fight against cancer. I'm taking part in the Relay for Life event this Sept. 19 in my hometown, Owen Sound.
As some of you know, and others may not, Cancer is something that has hit my family pretty hard. I've lost grandparents, aunts/uncles and friends to the disease. A dear friend of mine is fighting again. My team's name is in her honour; 'No Matter What' is her favourite thing to say. I say together we're going to find a way t
Yes, this is more of a question than a journal, but I'll attempt to make it journal-y.
As some of you may know, I'm in college taking journalism-print. I'm currently working on a story about high school drop-out rates. My predicament is: I'm unable to find anyone to interview on the student end, because things can get a bit tricky with minors (those under 18).
I'm looking for people that:
a) THOUGHT about dropping out of high school or
b) DID drop out of high school (even those that eventually went back or plan to go back)
I'm also looking for people in the above groups who are interested in being asked a few questions, for the record, f
Dude, I'm writing a new journal entry.
Well, I've been back in Welland for about three-and-a-half weeks and back to class for three.
It's amazing how much more natural this year feels. It's almost like I wasn't gone for four months. Of course, with back to school comes back to assignments. I think we already have more due than we had due in all of last year.
If I can get past the stresses, I'm sure it will be a load of fun. It's my final year! Holy cow!
There's nothing to say really. I'm not a very exciting person.
I do find myself quite addicted to MySpace these days. My space isn't anything special, but it's at myspace.com/lesley23 if
